The MBA is presented as a full-time course only to international students residing in Port Elizabeth.
Course Duration: 18 months
Class Presentation:
Venue: NMMU Business School, 20 Bird Street, Central, Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Group work: All students accepted onto the MBA programme are assigned to a group. Group members are selected and assigned according to their professional expertise and experience so as to best replicate a management team in the working environment. MBA students will work together in their groups over the 18 month period. Full time students are required to meet with their group on a daily basis before evening classes.
Electives: The final year comprises of three electives as well as your treatise. The electives are presented in Port Elizabeth. An elective is normally presented over a period of four or five days (Monday to Friday).
Tests and Exams: All tests and exams are written in Port Elizabeth.

It will take between 15 – 30 days from the moment that you hand in your completed application to receive a written letter from us informing you about the result.
The first step is to complete and submit the on-line enquiry form.
The programme starts in the first week of February of each year and an academic year consists of three 12 week trimesters. The first trimester starts in February; the 2nd trimester May and the 3rd trimester August. There is a recess from December – January.
Full-time students attend four evening classes per week from 17:30 – 20:30. Part time students attend two classes per week from 17:30 – 20:30. Block release students attend video conferencing classes every second Saturday morning and attend three study visits of three days each – at the NMMU Business School, Bird Street Campus, Port Elizabeth.
You will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee with your application and a fee for your SHL/GMAT test.
Yes, the NMMU MBA fees can be paid in three installments per year, which makes it a very affordable option for students who are not being sponsored.
A typical week for a full time/part time MBA student will consist of 12 hours and 6 hours contact teaching hours respectively. In addition, the full time students will need to spend at least another 28 hours and the part time students another 12 hours per week working on your own or in your study group.
The Higher Education Qualification Committee (HEQC) allows accredited MBA programmes to only afford credits for MBA modules completed on another accredited MBA Programme. Credits to a maximum of 7 of the 15 MBA modules can be obtained in this way.
