NMMU Business School will host the Integrated African Leadership MBA Elective, from the 12th – 14th of May 2015. Having been awarded the Best Elective Module for the year 2013/2014, it has become quite popular among the third-year MBA students.

The IAL elective grew from seven students in 2007 to more than 50 students in 2015. The module aims to increase the students’ leadership awareness through reflection with relevant theory, literature and case studies on the changing South African socio-political economy, African wisdom, change dynamics and personal leadership styles.

Prof Cecil Arnolds, Research Director of the NMMU Business School is the coordinator of the elective and has invited Dr Iraj Abedian, renowned South African economist, Ms Rosalie Wallace, a leadership consultant for more than 18 years, to lecture to the students, and Prof Kwandiwe Kondlo, a knowledgeable professor from UJ on the economy and leadership.
